Best new Skodas coming soon

Skoda has several brand-new pure-electric cars arriving over the next few years, and here’s what we know about them so far

Skoda’s small and popular petrol-powered cars – the Fabia, Scala and Kamiq – are all going to be sticking around until the end of the decade, due to the slower than expected demand for electric cars. However the much-loved brand still has new EVs of various sizes in the pipeline, and not all of them are SUVs

Skoda Epiq

Skoda Epic

If the all-new Skoda Epiq manages to live up to its name, it could blow all the other small electric SUVs out of the water. It’s the smaller, even more affordable sibling for the Skoda Elroq – the 2025 Auto Express Car of the Year – and Skoda has promised the Epiq will make its world debut by this summer.

We’ve already seen two concept models of the Epiq, which both looked tantalisingly close to being ready to hit the streets, so we have a very clear idea of what the finished car will look like. It’s supposed to be very spacious inside too, while underneath will be the same MEB+ platform used by the new Volkswagen ID. Polo and Cupra Raval. Prices should start in the region of £22,000.

Skoda Eviatiq

Skoda Vision 7S seven-seat EV - dynamic front 3/4

The seven-seat Skoda Kodiaq is one of the very best SUVs on the market, and has the Auto Express New Car Awards to prove it – so it’s natural that its much-loved maker would want to launch an all-electric counterpart. This was previewed all the way back in 2022 by the bold Vision 7S concept, but is now ready for action.

Potentially called the Eviatiq, Skoda’s flagship SUV will be around 4.9 metres long, meaning it’s going to be even larger (and presumably more spacious) than the already whopping Kodiaq – if not quite as colossal as the Kia EV9 it will be competing against.

It will feature all the signature elements of Skoda’s latest ‘Modern Solid’ design philosophy, mixed with some unique details from the Vision 7S. But the concept’s coach doors won’t be appearing.

Skoda Octavia EV

Skoda Vision O concept - front action

Who said the estate car is dead? Certainly not Skoda, because last year it revealed the Vision O concept to preview the next generation of the award-winning yet humble Skoda Octavia. The showcar was a whopping 4.8-metre long family estate that looks like it was from the year 3000.

In contrast, the new Octavia is actually expected to arrive a little early in 2030. The reason we have to wait so long is because it will be based on the Volkswagen Group’s upcoming SSP platform. This promises to unlock next-level EV technology for superior range and faster charging, plus deliver the computing power needed for the Vision O’s radical pillar-to-pillar Horizon Display and next-generation autonomous driving.
