Best new Skodas coming soon

Skoda has several brand-new pure-electric cars arriving over the next few years, and here’s what we know about them so far

We’re all huge Skoda fans here at Auto Express, as you could probably tell by the high praise and numerous awards we’ve given to its cars. In fact, the Skoda Elroq was the 2025 Auto Express Car of the Year. So naturally we’re very excited about the various new models the Czech brand is set to launch in the next few years. Here’s everything you need to know about them.

Skoda Epiq

If the all-new Skoda Epiq manages to live up to its name, it could blow all the other small electric SUVs out of the water. It’s the more compact and more affordable baby brother of the Skoda Elroq – the 2025 Auto Express Car of the Year – yet it doesn’t feel cheap in any way at all, including quality, onboard tech and refinement.

The Epiq will start from just £24,950 and offer up to 272 miles of range, which is more than the Renault 4 or Ford Puma Gen-E can muster. The styling gives the small SUV a rugged quality without looking like a Jeep, while inside is a selection of sustainable materials. There’s a 475-litre boot, which is bigger than its petrol-powered counterpart’s, the Skoda Kamiq, and some of the Czech signature ‘Simply Clever’ features, such as an umbrella handily hidden in the driver’s door.

Skoda Karoq

Auto Express got the scoop that the next-generation Skoda Karoq is in the works, with the brand looking to develop the mid-size family SUV at the sort of speeds its Chinese competitors are able to pump out new products. That said, we’re still not expecting it to arrive until 2028 at the earliest. The new Karoq will be shaped by the next evolution of Skoda’s ‘Modern Solid’ styling philosophy that it showed us last year with the Vision O concept, and it should feature the Volkswagen Group's latest hybrid tech.

Skoda Peaq

The Skoda Peaq, as the name suggests, is the biggest, boldest and most spacious SUV the company has ever made. It’s also the most expensive, with prices for the seven-seater electric SUV starting from nearly £52,000 – more than a Mercedes GLB Electric, but at least it’s less than the Kia EV9 costs.

The Peaq has a more premium and elegant look than its siblings, which is complemented by a classy interior designed to feel like a living room on wheels. Being nearly 12cm longer than the Skoda Kodiaq, unsurprisingly there’s lots of space inside, but the tech onboard is a step above any of the brand’s other models as well. Meanwhile, an 86kWh battery is fitted that offers up to 390 miles of range.

Skoda Octavia EV

Skoda Vision O concept - front action

Who said the estate car is dead? Certainly not Skoda, because last year it revealed the Vision O concept to preview the next generation of the award-winning yet humble Octavia. The showcar was a whopping 4.8-metre long family estate that looks like it was from the year 3000.

In contrast, the new Octavia is actually expected to arrive a little early in 2030. The reason we have to wait so long is because it will be based on the Volkswagen Group’s upcoming SSP platform. This promises to unlock next-level EV technology for superior range and faster charging, plus deliver the computing power needed for the Vision O’s radical pillar-to-pillar Horizon Display and next-generation autonomous driving
