BMW testing a pair of monster off-roaders

Quad exhausts and side vents giveaway the X6 and X5 M-sport variants

Cars don’t come bigger or brasher than thestandard BMW X6, but that hasn’t stopped the German carmaker is taking itCoupe-SUV even further with an M-sport variant. And here are the pictures thatprove it!

Side vents and quad-tipped exhaustsgiveaway the car’s identity, although BMW still refuse to confirm the X6 M’sexistence. Built to compete with Porsche’s Cayenne Turbo S, Mercedes ML63 AMGand other high-performance crossovers, it will use a more powerful version ofBMW’s twin-turbo 4.8-litre V8 producing over 500bhp. Using thesame powerplant as the X6 M, the X5 M will hit showrooms a few months after itsless-practical sibling. A facelifted version of the standard X5 has been caughttesting too – with only minimal camouflage highlighting the revised front andrear bumpers.
