Dynamo Street-H MH01 review

The Dynamo is among the very cheapest tyres you can buy in this size and it performs very poorly, especially in the wet. It was eighth and last in four out of five wet tests and sixth in the other, and its worst performance was in the most crucial test: straight-line braking. It took 7.1 metres longer to stop from 50mph than the best, and at the point the Continental had stopped, the Dynamo was still doing more than 20mph. Even compared with the seventh best, the Dynamo took 4.4 metres further to stop. 

Around the wet handling circuit it was almost 10 seconds off the pace. If you replaced a decent set of tyres with these, you’d feel the difference immediately because there’s very little traction or bite. At speed the front or rear slipped unpredictably, where its rivals in this test were confident. 

On measured noise and around the dry handling circuit it was mid-table, but it was by far the worst in straight-line dry braking and returned the highest rolling resistance, so it’s the least economical. There are tyres here that cost only a little more, but which perform much better in almost all areas. Here, spending the extra buys you a whole lot more safety.
