Used buyer's guide: Nissan 370Z

The Nissan 370Z combines driving fun with a strong reliability record

What to look for

• On Roadsters, the roof fabric, motor and mechanism can cause trouble.• Some cars have 19-inch wheels, which look great, but your spine won’t like them on badly surfaced roads.• At speed there’s a disappointing amount of road noise, which can make long-distance drives tiring.

Recalls

The 370Z has upheld Nissan’s strong reputation for reliability, as the company has yet to issue any recalls on the coupe. That means buyers can focus instead on finding a clean car with a fully stamped service history.

Driver Power

Our view:The 370Z is too rare to get into our Driver Power satisfaction survey, but as a brand Nissan has generally done well. It was fourth in our 2012 manufacturer countdown, while its dealers repeated the feat to deliver an impressive overall showing.

Your view:Wayne Hardy from Derby has owned his 370Z for two years. “The 370Z improves on my old 350Z in every way,” he tells us. “It’s faster, looks sharper and the interior is better. It costs a lot to run, but I like the exclusivity.”
