Citroen reveals C1, C3, C3 Aircross and C4 Cactus 'Origins' special editions

Cosmetic and equipment upgrades offered for the special versions of the C1, C3, C3 Aircross and C4 Cactus

Citroen is celebrating 100 years of “creativity and boldness” with a series of special edition models. The Origins limited run models will cover the C1, C3, C3 Aircross and C4 Cactus ranges.

The changes to each model are cosmetic and extend to unique colour schemes inside and out. There are four exterior colours to choose from: Polar White, Cumulus Grey, Platinum Grey or Perla Nera Black, equipped with a contrasting Black roof and 17-inch black wheels. Bronze paint highlights details like the airbump surrounds, fog lamp bezels, door mirrors and C-pillar trim, while unique ‘Origins’ decals are applied to the front wings.

Inside, the Origins models feature unique seat upholstery; in the case of the C3, that involves grey/black seating with white highlights, and additional bronze touches on the dash.

The C3 origins is offered with a choice of two 1.2-litre petrol engines, one makes 81bhp with a manual gearbox and the other 108bhp model is equipped with a six-speed automatic. The Cactus variant comes with a manual version of the same 108bhp PureTech unit.

The C3 and C4 Cactus Origins are available to order now, with deliveries beginning in March, priced at £16,585 for the 81bhp C3 and £20,215 for the C4 Cactus. That makes the C3 £1,545 more expensive than the Feel trim on which it’s based, and the Cactus £1,710 more than the Feel model.

However, both gain a host of extra standard equipment too. In the case of the C3, the Origins adds reversing sensors, SOS assistance, satellite navigation, and the Safety Pack that includes autonomous emergency braking, driver attention alert, collision warning, plus automatic lights and wipers. The Cactus adds the same SOS tech, navigation, electric folding door mirrors and the uprated comfort seats.

C1 and C3 Aircross buyers will have a little longer to wait - orders begin in March, with deliveries beginning in June.
