Cadillac ATS

The Cadillac ATS is designed to take on the BMW 3 Series and Audi A4, and is built on a new platform which makes it one of the lightest cars in its class. Bosses claim it’s nimble and hi-tech, too, but haven’t yet announced a diesel. That’s something it’ll need to succeed in the UK.
Chevrolet Cruze Station Wagon

The Cruze estate will be powered by an all-new 1.7-litre diesel engine with 130bhp. There’s 1,500 litres of load space with the rear seats folded flat, and roof rails come as standard, too. The estate joins the hatchback and saloon models in an updated line-up for 2012.
Citroen Berlingo Multispace

The updated Berlingo Multispace now features a wider grille, new LED daytime running lights and refreshed headlamps. Mechanical tweaks have slightly improved efficiency, too. And there are a few new colours available, including Belle Ile Blue.

Citroen has given the C1 a mild update with revamped styling to bring it more into line with the rest of the range, plus tweaks to boost its efficiency. The 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine now emits less than 100g/km of CO2, while prices have been cut across the line-up.

A new addition to the Citroen C4 family is this handsome crossover, available with two or four-wheel drive. The C4 Aircross has a 442-litre boot and seats five people. Engine choices comprise two petrols and two diesels, with a 148bhp 1.8-litre HDi topping the range.

Citroen DS3 Racing SLE

Sebastien Loeb Edition of the DS3 Racing is signed by Citroen’s multiple world championship-winning rally driver, and is mechanically identical to the regular hot DS3, with a 204bhp 1.6-litre turbo. Marking it out from the standard model is matt black paint, along with a contrasting red roof and door mirrors, while Citroen’s MyWay sat-nav system is included as standard. Only 200 examples of the SLE will be made.
Citroen DS4 Racing

The DS4 Racing uses the same 1.6-litre turbocharged engine as the DS3 Racing, but with power increased to 256bhp. That makes it the world’s most potent 1.6-litre engine, although it emits only 155g/km of CO2. The concept was developed with the help of Citroen Racing – the team behind the company’s multiple World Rally Championship wins – and features suspension lowered by 35mm and a track that is wider by 55mm at the front and 75mm at the rear. It also gets bigger brakes and carbon fibre trim on the rear diffuser, front splitter and wheelarches. Citroen says this car is still a concept, but it claimed the same when the DS3 Racing was first shown, and that went into production just months later.
Dacia Lodgy

Dacia is Renault’s Romanian budget brand, which will launch in the UK later this year. To begin with, only the Duster SUV and Sandero supermini will go on sale here, but next year the spacious Lodgy MPV joins the line-up. It will come as a five or seven-seater, with up to 2,617 litres of space. There will be two petrol engines – a 104bhp 1.6-litre and a 113bhp 1.2-litre turbo – plus two 1.5-litre diesels, with 89bhp and 108bhp. Standard spec is basic, but extras such as sat-nav and Bluetooth can be added for just a few hundred pounds. That incredibly low price tag of around £8,000 undercuts everything in the class, but don’t go looking for further discounts: Dacia will have a strict no-haggling policy – even for fleet buyers.
