Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6 review

The Bridgestone might have just fallen short of the podium places, but it offers very strong performance in wet and dry conditions

  • Score: 99.3%
  • Ranking: 4th
  • Price: £110

The Bridgestone has claimed a podium finish in the three previous all-season tests and was very close to a fourth. It shows the quality of this field that it claims only one outright win (for cabin noise) but it racked up no fewer than eight second and third places. It was the second best tyre in the snow, claiming runner-up spot in the braking and traction tests and third around the snow lap, with great grip and a calm, exploitable balance.

In the all-important wet braking test it was equal second, just 0.1m shy of the best, and although it was fifth around the wet handling circuit, 1.5sec off the pace, it demonstrated decent grip, good precision and reassuring predictability. It was equal third around the wet circle and third in both aquaplaning tests, cementing a great overall wet performance.

It delivers in the dry too, claiming second in dry braking, 0.5m better than the third-placed tyre though still 1.2m adrift of the best. Around the dry handling course it was fourth. It was neat, accurate and among the best in terms of feel, and praised for its refinement too, so no surprise our noise meter said it was the quietest. However, it was one of the least economical.

We say:

“Misses out on a podium finish by the smallest margin. An all-season tyre that’s great in the snow, wet and dry.”

Blackcircles.com says:

“Well regarded for its performance in various weather conditions. Rated 4.7/5, the tyre’s great performance inspires confidence.”
