CamerAlert uses a map view to flag up cameras, and detection is accurate with clear audio alerts. The notice period is too long, though, and feels a little erratic – picking up cameras in your vicinity rather than on your direct route. Speed accuracy was good, but the limit is displayed in the  top corner and hard to see, and menu buttons are fiddly. Our main complaint hasn’t been addressed from our previous test. Your phone goes into sleep mode while running the app – rendering the good map view useless. Subscription is extremely pricey compared to rivals, too.
