Top-spec VW Touareg R-Line Plus revealed
Luxurious new R-Line Plus trim level adds sporty appeal to the Volkswagen Touareg range, starting from £48,095
A new top-spec Volkswagen Touareg R-Line Plus model has been revealed, featuring extra equipment and a price tag of £48,095. VW expects it to be a big seller, accounting for about half of all Touareg sales.
It's based on the existing R-Line trim, and gets larger 21-inch alloy wheels as well as the lowered suspension, sporty body kit, panoramic sunroof and Xenon headlights from the previous top-spec trim.
Inside you'll find black roof lining, a heated steering wheel and an electric tailgate as well, all carried over from the R-Line.

Area View is standard on the R-Line Plus, which uses cameras on the outside of the car to give you a 360-degree view when parking, shown on the infotainment display in the cabin. You also get piano black trim on the dash plus electric leather seats.
Volkswagen says the extra kit would cost £3,255, but the R-Line Plus costs only £1,160 more than an equivalent R-Line car.
All models get four-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic gearbox, but you can have your Touareg R-Line Plus with either 201bhp or 258bhp, both using a 3.0-litre V6 diesel unit. The higher-powered car costs £1,800 more, at £49,895.
