New SsangYong Tivoli Ultimate special edition introduced

New range-topping version of the affordable crossover arrives in the UK in limited numbers

SsangYong has expanded the Tivoli range with the addition of a new range-topping special edition version of its budget crossover, packing in extra comfort and convenience tech and slight changes in the cabin.

Called the Tivoli Ultimate edition, just 60 will be made available to UK buyers, with the option of a petrol engine only. The 1.6-litre unit produces 126bhp and 160Nm of torque, and is available with either a six-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed automatic.

Inside, the driver gets an electronically adjustable and ventilated seat, plus a heated steering wheel as standard. Elsewhere, the car gains subtle design changes with the introduction of LED front foglamps, while some of the switchgear inside has changed too. The handbrake lever has been slightly repositioned as well. An optional styling pack allows the roof, spoiler and wing mirrors to be finished in either contrasting black or white.

The Tivoli Ultimate is actually based on the range topping ELX model. As such, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, automatic high beam and traffic sign recognition all make the cut. The interior is upholstered in leather, while a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with sat nav, Bluetooth connectivity and a reversing camera system takes pride of place in the centre console.

Prices for the Tivoli Ultimate begin from £17,495, with the automatic option arriving from £18,745. Order books are now open.
