New Skoda Enyaq iV vRS priced from £52,670
The 295bhp Enyaq iV vRS joins the coupe variant as Skoda’s second all-electric vRS model, with customer deliveries expected in June next year
The new Enyaq iV vRS is the latest addition to Skoda’s electric SUV line-up, and arrives with a 295bhp dual motor setup, a more focused chassis and cosmetic tweaks. The firm has announced pricing and specification details for the newcomer, which starts from £52,670.
The new model follows in the wheel tracks of the Enyaq Coupe iV vRS, and uses the same 82kWh battery as its sibling, supplying a dual-motor all-wheel drive system with a total of 295bhp and 460Nm of torque. These outputs, along with the 6.5-second 0-62mph time, are identical to the coupe’s.
The vRS can achieve 321 miles from a full battery, while 135kW recharging capability means it can be topped up to 80 per cent in as little as 35 minutes. The regular SUV-bodied Enyaq vRS is more practical than the coupe, and the boxier shape provides 15 litres more boot space for 585 litres in total.
In typical vRS fashion, this hottest Enyaq features a gloss black grille surround, which is also illuminated by 131 LEDs as standard. The door mirrors, rear diffuser insert and E-shaped air curtain intakes are also gloss black. The vRS’s interior gets performance-orientated touches too, with sports seats, a sports steering wheel and a choice of two design packages. In vRS Lounge specification, the cabin is trimmed in black microfibre with green detailing, while vRS Design brings black leather upholstery with grey piping instead.
The vRS’s infotainment system centres around a 13-inch central touchscreen, which works with a 5.3-inch digital instrument panel behind the steering wheel. The setup is familiar to lesser Enyaq iVs, and the software is capable of over-the-air updates to improve functionality over time. All versions receive a wireless charging pad and navigation, and customers can precondition their car via the MySKODA smartphone app before a journey.
To achieve sharper dynamics befitting of the vRS badge, a sports suspension setup provides a 15mm drop in ride height at the front and 10mm at the rear, and 20-inch wheels are fitted as standard (larger 21-inch items are optional). The driver can choose from Eco, Normal and Sport driving modes, with the optional Dynamic Chassis Control adaptive dampers bringing an additional Comfort setting. There’s a Traction mode too, designed to maximise grip on slippery surfaces at speeds of up to 12mph.
Skoda offers the Enyaq iV vRS with two trim options, and the Advanced model includes a head up display, heated front and rear seats, a heated windscreen and a Canton stereo. Specifying the Maxx package adds electric front seats, a massaging driver’s seat, a 360-degree camera and a parking assist system, along with the aforementioned Dynamic Chassis Control.
A range of separate options can be specified at extra cost, such as a panoramic sunroof, tow bar and an onboard heat pump. Prices for the Enyaq iV vRS start at £52,670, with first deliveries scheduled for June 2023.
