Limited-run Skoda Enyaq iV Founders Edition launched
Just 50 examples of the Skoda Enyaq Founders Edition will come to the UK, each costing £46,725
Skoda has launched a new limited edition version of the pure-electric Enyaq iV, called the Founders Edition, which the company says celebrates the start of its “era of electrification.”
Production will be limited to just 1,895 units worldwide, in reference to the Czech brand’s founding year as Laurin and Klement. Of those, just 50 will be sold in the UK with each costing £46,725.
Buyers have a choice of two paint colours – Arctic Silver or Black Magic – and every Founders Edition features a range of model-specific styling tweaks, including a set of 21-inch alloy wheels, a unique badge for the front wings and more aggressive bumpers.
Other styling changes include new gloss black roof rails and exterior trim, while the grille is Skoda’s backlit Crystal Face unit which features 130 LED lights.
The lettering on the tailgate also differs according to the colour scheme. Silver cars get gloss black badges, while the black models get copper badges.
Inside, each Founders Edition Enyaq gets a numbered plaque on the steering wheel which marks the car’s position in the build series. Buyers also get aluminium pedals, acoustic side windows and black leather upholstery paired with cognac brown piping.
The special edition Enyaq’s specification is based on that of the Enyaq iV 80. Buyers get front and rear parking sensors, a rear view camera and privacy glass as standard, and Skoda has also thrown in a wireless smartphone charger and keyless locking, too.
It’s powered by an 82kWh battery pack (of which 77kWh is usable) and a 201bhp electric motor mounted on the rear axle, which is enough for a 0–62mph time of 8.2 seconds.
Skoda hasn’t officially confirmed the special edition model’s maximum range, but the standard Enyaq iV fitted with the same powertrain can cover 331 miles between charges.
An 80 percent charge takes 38 minutes when connected to a 125kW DC rapid charger, while a full charge from an AC wallbox will take around 13 hours.
