2015 Renault Trafic and Master Passenger minibuses on sale

Renault has opened the order books for its Trafic and Master Passengers, with 6, 9 and 17 seat versions available

Renault's commercial vehicle range has just got a fair bit bigger, thanks to the addition of passenger carrying versions to its Trafic and Master van range. The Trafic is available to order now with nine seats in medium or long-wheelbase format, while the Master gets six, nine or 17 seats.

Like the Trafic van, the Passenger range gets for versions of a 1.6 dCi diesel engine: 89bhp (dCi 90) and 113bhp (dCi 115) units have single turbochargers while the 118bhp (dCi 120) and 138bhp (dCi 140) versions get twin turbos for extra oomph. Fuel economy ranges from 49.6mpg combined for the least powerful, to 42.8mpg for the top model, while CO2 is between 149-174 g/km.

All versions of the Trafic get three rows of three seats, with short (3,098 mm) or long (3,498 mm) wheelbase available for extra load space in the rear. Sport models allow more sculpted front seats as a no-cost option. Equipment levels remain the same as the panel van, with prices starting from £20,145 (excl. VAT).

The larger Master Passenger is a available as a Combi model with six seats (3,182mm wheelbase) or nine seats (3,682mm wheelbase) and a load area in the rear, or as a full 17-seat minibus with a 4,332mm wheelbase. 

The Combi range gets a choice of 109, 124 and 134 bhp 2.3-litre dCi diesel engines, while the minibus gets a 148bhp dCi as standard. Fuel economy is between 34.8mpg combined for the minibus, and 44.1mpg for the six-seat combi.

The Master starts at £22,100 (excl. VAT) for the base Combi, and rises to £31,500 (excl. VAT) for the top-spec Business minibus.
