Pirelli Cinturato Winter 2 review

The Pirelli isn't a class leader, but it is a solid all-rounder

The Pirelli’s strongest results came in wet and dry handing, where it was second fastest both times. It was fourth in snow handling, which was another good result, because it was less than half a second off the time of the fastest tyre. A solid set of results in the other tests netted it fourth place overall, which is where it finished last time out, in 2022.

It was midfield in the snow braking and traction tests, but added an exploitable handling balance and predictable responses to deliver a competitive lap time. In wet braking it was a strong third, within a metre of the best, and although its steering felt light, it demonstrated good traction out of turns and proved usefully adjustable and thus effective on the wet circuit. It was strong in curved aquaplaning too, but only average in a straight line in deeper water.

Fourth in dry braking was matched with great feel on the circuit. Around the lap, the Pirelli combined strong grip with a calm poise, which made it easy to exploit and inspired confidence. The noise meter showed that it was impressively refined too (third quietest), but high rolling resistance made it the second-worst for economy. Overall, a tyre that performs well and drives even better.

We say…

“Didn’t top any of the tables but delivered a solid overall performance and was good to drive.”

Blackcircles.com says…

“Customers have rated the tyre well, with a score of 4.6/5 – and drivers note that it feels nice to drive.”
