New Peugeot Boxer 2014 revealed
Pictures and details of the new Peugeot Boxer panel van have been released
The Peugeot Boxer has been updated for 2014 and it's been revealed at the 2014 Commercial Vehicle Show at the NEC in Birmingham.
Thevan’s exterior is quite striking and has a redesigned front end with a wide grille that borrows its looks from the new Peugeot 308.
Head inside and you’ll see that the Peugeot Boxer, sister van to the Citroen Relay, has a new control panel on its dash and black ‘Darko’ cloth with red and grey detailing stitched onto the seats.
Alongside this attractive styling is a range of powerful and economical diesel engines. You can pick between three 2.2-litre HDI engines in different power outputs or a 3.0-litre HDI 180 engine. Stop-start technology is available on the 2.2-litre HDI 130 engine and Peugeot claims this helps reduce CO2 emissions by up to 5g/km.
Peugeot also claims that the Peugeot Boxer has one of the widest ranges of gross vehicle weights on the market and this includes 3.0, 3.3, 3.5 and 4.0-tonne variations. The van comes in three different wheelbases, four lengths and three heights, whilst crew cab, flat bed, tipper and base vehicle vans are available.
It should be quite easy to place goods into the load bay, which stands at 1.87m and 1.42m wide between the wheel arches. The load sill - measuring between 493 and 602mm - can also be lowered by 60 to 70mm for even better access.
All the brakes, suspension damper brackets and body structure have been tweaked for greater strength and noise reduction, whilst new mechanisms have been added to the sliding side doors.
The Peugeot Boxer comes packed with a generous range of gadgets like ABS, ESP and Load Adaptive Control. Optional extras include a lane departure warning, tyre pressure monitoring system, grip control, cruise control, rear parking sensors, reversing camera and variable assistance power steering.
