Pininfarina Battista hypercar gets new bespoke design options

Before it hits the road later this year, we’ve been given a taste of the huge scope for personalisation offered with the 1,873bhp Pininfarina Battista.

The Battista will be one of the most powerful road-legal cars ever built, and shares its powertrain tech with the Rimac Nevera - currently the world’s fastest accelerating production car. 

However, the Battista looks to set itself apart with its own design, chassis setup and powertrain calibration, as well as an extensive personalisation programme. This brings a staggering 128 million combinations of exterior and interior options to choose from - the Italian marque claims that no two cars will be alike.

To specify their perfect Battista, customers are invited to the Pininfarina workshop in Cambiano, Italy, to view the huge range of paint colours, carbon fibre finishes and interior materials.

Speaking on the personalisation programme, Pininfarina’s Head of Colour and Materials Design said: “The Pininfarina name has a storied heritage of individual cars, and the Battista continues this legacy as every vehicle will be truly bespoke by design. Just 150 Battistas will be hand-built at Pininfarina’s Cambiano facility, and the first bespoke commission has now been revealed, serving as a showcase for the scope of customisation on offer.

The first Battista is inspired by New York City, and features a red, white and blue colour scheme, with a unique, exposed Iconica Blue carbon weave - the first of its kind in the automotive industry. 

White body stripes are applied by hand, contrasting against elements of exposed black carbon and red accent lines. The aluminium centre lock rings for the wheels have been finished in anodized black, to match the roof, rear diffuser and rear wing.

Inside, buyers can choose from a range of materials such as aluminium, carbon fibre, Alcantara and leather, with the New York commission opting for black leather upholstery and Iconica Blue Alcantara inserts.

The New York theme carries through to the stitching, which features a red, white and blue pattern, along with a red headrest logo and white seatbelts. Buyers can also request a custom engraving on the chassis plate between the seats.

The Battista will square off against the 1,972bhp Lotus Evija, with a projected 0-62mph time of less than two seconds and a top speed of 217mph. Prices are expected to range between £1.5 million and £2 million, with 150 examples being split equally between Europe, the USA and the Middle East.
