Mitsubishi Evo X FQ-440 MR special edition revealed

Special edition Mitsubishi Evo X FQ-440 MR unveiled, packing 440bhp and limited to just 40 models

Mitsubishi has pulled the wraps off the Evo X FQ-440 MR special edition. Designed to mark the companies 40th anniversary in the UK, the special edition features dramatic performance upgrades and cosmetic tweaks. It will go on sale priced from £50,000 and will be limited to just 40 units.

Mechanical changes start with the 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine now being fitted with a bespoke ECU re-map, boosting power to 440bhp - making it the most powerful production Evo ever. A new HKS turbo has also been added, along with a Janspeed exhaust system, intake and intercooler.

Power from the 2.0-litre turbo will be transmitted via a six-speed twin-clutch sports shift transmission and permanent four-wheel drive. The special edition Evo also rides on unique 18-inch alloys and is 35mm lower to the ground at the front and 30mm at the back over the standard model, helping reduce body roll in corners.

Inside, Recaro leather bucket seats will hold you firmly in place, with a seven-inch LCD touchscreen and eight-speaker sound system also fitted. Mitsubishi has also equipped all 40 special edition models with a data recorder, which is connected through the on-board diagnostic (OBD) system.

The model will only be available in Frost White and comes as standard with Mitsubishi’s 3 year/36,000 mile warranty.
