New MINI Countryman Boardwalk Edition arrives with styling upgrades

The MINI Countryman Boardwalk Edition will be limited to just 325 units, gets unique paint finish, new wheels and is priced from £31,600

A new MINI Countryman Boardwalk Edition has been revealed for Cooper and Cooper S versions of the car. The model is limited to just 325 units and goes on sale in January priced from £31,600.

The new Boardwalk Edition gains a whole host of styling upgrades, that includes the Deep Laguna Blue metallic paint finish first introduced on the limited MINI Sidewalk Edition that is contrasted with a black roof, large 19-inch alloy wheels and yet more gloss black for the roof rails, grille and headlamp surrounds.

Signifying you've bought the limited MINI Countryman, there's new Boardwalk logos on the treadplates, indicators and rear half of the passenger roof.

Inside, there's another Boardwalk logo below the passenger's left air vent, but the chief focus of the new special edition is offering buyers more standard kit, with the limited-edition MINI getting a full leather interior, climate control, heated seats, auto-dimming and folding mirrors, front and rear camera and Park Assist.

The Boardwalk also bags the MINI Excitement pack, that throws in MINI logo puddle lamps, illuminated door handles and LED mood lighting. There's also a full digital instrument cluster, auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers and cruise control that are normally all available on the Countryman at extra cost.

Available with either the six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, the Boardwalk is available with either the Countryman Cooper (£31,600) that gets a 135bhp 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder or the more powerful Countryman Cooper S (from £35,550) that gets a 189bhp 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder that allows the MINI SUV to complete the 0-62mph dash in just 7.5 seconds and top out at 140mph.
