Brabus reveals aftermarket options for the Mercedes E-Class saloon

The raison d’être of any tuning company is to boost performance, and Brabus has done exactly that with its latest offering of post-factory improvements for the new Mercedes E-Class. The package of Brabus engine and styling upgrades is designed to boost performance and underline the extra potency by giving the car more aggressive looks.
Chief among the new options for the top end E350d is the D6 S package, which can be fitted in under an hour to squeeze another 50bhp out of the turbodiesel engine, as well as an extra 100Nm of torque.

This additional punch is delivered between 1,600 and 2,400 rpm, and shaves two tenths off the standard 0-62mph time of 5.9 seconds. Although the Brabus modifications make the E350d quicker off the line, the electronic limiter stays put, so the top speed remains at 155mph.
For owners of the mid-range E220d, Brabus’s D3 module will lift the power output by a modest 27bhp, while the B20 package will give the entry-level E200’s four-cylinder petrol a further 40bhp to play with.
The Brabus brochure extends beyond power upgrades, with a choice of custom alloy wheels ranging from 18 to 21 inches. At the latter end of that spectrum, they will also fit high performance tyres from Continental, Pirelli or Yokohama, with 255/30 ZR21s at the front axle and 295/25 ZR21s at the rear. Customers also have the option of lowering the ride height by 30mm, but only on models that have been equipped with air suspension.
Styling wise, Brabus has given the sedan more flair with “tailor-made aerodynamic enhancement kits” ready to fit the W 213’s front and rear bumpers. The addition of spoilers at both ends is intended to improve handling at high speed, as well as making the car look more distinctive.
A three-finned rear diffuser will also help to make the E-Class stand out on the road, and the same goes for the quartet of chrome-plated tail pipes which fit neatly either side.
The exhaust flaps can be actively controlled on the AMG E43 model, allowing a useful “Coming home” mode for quiet areas and a louder, sporty setting for everywhere else.
The interior hasn’t escaped the Brabus treatment either, with stainless scuff plates hosting a backlit Brabus logo for those who feel inclined to leave passengers in no doubt about the exclusivity of their ride.
And Brabus will also re-upholster the interior in a durable, Mastik-coated Alcantara leather, which they say is available “in any desired colour”. The choice is yours... provided you have the budget to match.
