Lexus will release a pair of additional trim levels for the RX SUV and the IS F Sport next year, with a new base-model variant for the SUV and a limited edition version of the saloon.

The new entry-level Lexus RX and RX L come as standard with an electrically operated tailgate, LED headlamps with automatic high beam and Lexus’s Intelligent Clearance Sonar parking sensors. There’s also synthetic leather upholstery, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror and a pair of eight-way heated and electrically adjustable front seats with two-way lumbar adjustment on the driver’s seat. Buyers also get a host of standard-fit safety equipment, including automatic emergency braking and a blind spot monitoring system.

The range-topping seven-seat Lexus RX L Takumi is also now available with the option of two individual captain’s chairs in the second seating row, in place of the usual three-seat bench. Each comes with its own centre armrest and both feature a power-folding function to create a flat load space for transporting large items.

Lexus’s limited edition, called the I Blue, is based on the racy F Sport edition and comes with a range of cosmetic enhancements and more standard equipment. Inside, two different shades of blue are used to colour the car’s wooden steering wheel trim, while contrasting inserts appears on the door cards and stitching on its seats. Buyers also get a 10-inch infotainment system, power adjustable front seats and auto-dimming wing mirrors.

Elsewhere, exterior styling additions for the IS I Blue include black door mirror caps, a revised mesh radiator grille, updated fog lamp surrounds and a set of fresh 18-inch alloy wheels finished in gun-metal grey. Buyers also have their choice of three paint finishes – Azure Blue, Sonic White or Graphic Black.
