Lamborghini Aventador S Roadster revealed at Frankfurt 2017

Modifications made to Lamborghini's hard-top extended to Aventador S Roadster

Lamborghini has revealed the 2018 Aventador S Roadster at the Frankfurt Motor Show, carrying a price tag of £251,462 and a housing a 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 with 730bhp and 690Nm of torque.

Equipped with four-wheel-drive, the Aventador S Roadster will do 0-62mph in 3.0 seconds, one tenth slower than the hardtop version thanks to a 50kg weight penalty added by the retractable roof. However, the top speed of 217mph remains the same.

As part of improvements made to the Aventador’s handling, this S version features new active suspension, new four-wheel steering, and new EGO driving mode – previously seen on the Coupe. All these changes are claimed to sharpen the turn-in of the Aventador and improve responsiveness when driving.

To ensure your gear changes match the high speeds of the rest of the car, a seven-speed flappy-paddle gearbox changes gears in under 50 milliseconds. Happily, the S Roadster's refined performance is coupled with carbon ceramic brakes as standard.

Meanwhile, Lamborghini's Ad Personam personalization program offers endless potential for owners to customise their cars. The roof itself is a removable hardtop which is stored in the front trunk - weighing in at just 6kg - and can be personalised inside and out, with options ranging from a shiny carbon fibre exterior finish to Alcantara interior.

Lamborghini has also included Apple CarPlay as standard, which is accompanied by a TFT digital dashboard. First deliveries are expected to land in February 2018, just in time for April showers...
