New Kia Stonic Quantum unveiled as special edition model

Kia Stonic leaps into 2023 with new Quantum variant

Kia has no less than seven SUVs in its line-up currently (soon to be eight with the upcoming EV9) and the Stonic is the cheapest and smallest of the lot. And now to inject a little interest into its somewhat forgotten compact crossover, there’s a new ‘Quantum’ special edition version of Kia’s baby SUV, giving it a bit more clout amongst its numerous rivals.

The Stonic Quantum sits above mid-spec GT-Line trim and Kia says it offers generous equipment levels combined with maximum value. Priced from £21,600, the Stonic Quantum is available to order now, with first UK deliveries expected in early 2023.

As with the rest of the Stonic range, power comes from a 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine which pumps out 99bhp to the front wheels. It’s mated to a six-speed manual transmission and will accelerate from 0-62mph in 10.7 seconds.

The exterior of the Stonic Quantum receives a bespoke design, with Storm Grey paint combined with a two-tone roof finished in yellow. Buyers also get 17-inch wheels fitted as standard, but the Quantum doesn’t get the sportier bumpers and LED headlights found on the GT-Line and GT-Line S models.

Inside, there’s upholstery finished in black and grey with yellow inserts, along with further yellow accents to the cabin. Automatic air-conditioning is standard, along with a reversing camera, an eight-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, tinted windows, front fog lights and LED rear lights.

The Quantum special edition features the same safety equipment available across the whole Stonic range, comprising forward collision avoidance, hill start assist and driver attention assist.
