Hennessey upgrade takes Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk to 1,012bhp

Hennessey has teamed up with Jeep to give the already monstrous Grand Cherokee Trackhawk more power

Having driven a near production prototype of Jeep’s flagship Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, we can honestly say we didn’t think that this car needed any more power. With almost 700bhp and a top speed of 180mph, the standard Trackhawk is one of the quickest SUV’s on the market but now, with the insertion of Hennessey’s Hellcat supercharged 6.2L V8 Hemi engine, it may just have taken top spot.

This new HPE1000 version features a whole host of upgrades, most notably the new supercharger system producing 14psi of boost to take the Trackhawk from 697bhp and 875Nm torque to 1,012bhp and 1,314Nm. Other additions include stainless steel headers, a high-flow supercharger bypass valve and upgraded high-flow fuel injectors and air induction system.

In terms of numbers, the Hennessey Trackhawk is impressive. The 0-60mph time comes in at 2.8 seconds and a quarter mile is all done in 10.5 seconds – by which time the luxury SUV is hitting 133mph.

The standard Trackhawk costs around £60,000. Details regarding the price of the Hennessy version are yet to be released, but with similar upgrade packages fitted to other cars costing around £45,000, it’s likely that this variant could cost north of £100k. There is a lesser HPE850 upgrade pack for those who don’t quite want to go to that extreme.

The Hennessey Trackhawk gets bespoke Brembo brakes as standard, along with unique titanium-finished 20-inch wheels and Pirelli tyres. The Hennessey exterior additions include a Hennessey badge on the rear and HPE1000 Powered by Hennessey badges on the side. In the interior, customers get the Hennessey HPE1000 serial numbered plaque signed by John Hennessey himself, as well as ‘powered by Hennessey’ premium floor mats.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk isn't the only thing Hennessey have been working on. Take a look at its Venom F5, which, the USA tuner claims to be capable of 300mph...
