New 2021 Ford Ranger Stormtrak and Wolftrak limited editions revealed

The new Ford Ranger Stormtrak and Wolftrak models expand the pick-up truck's range with more kit and special features

Two new special edition models of Ford's Ranger pick-up will go on sale in the UK later in 2021. The Stormtrak is based on top-spec Wildtrak trim and features exclusive colours and equipment, while the Wolftrak is a rugged mid-spec model geared towards off-road use.

The Ford Ranger Stormtrak features the same 210bhp 2.0 EcoBlue twin-turbodiesel engine as the Ranger Wildtrak, and comes exclusively with the Ranger's 10-speed automatic gearbox, which makes it perfect for towing.

As well as all the standard Wildtrak features, the Stormtrak adds exclusive styling components, including unique Rapid Red paint (Frozen White and Blue Lightning are also available), a red grille insert, LED headlights and underbody protection.

At the rear is a gloss black bumper, while Ford's 'Sports Hoop' roll bar is added in the load bed. The load area also gets a standard plastic lining, a load divider and a Power Roller Shutter. The latter means the load cover opens and closes electrically, rather than having to rely on pulling canvas straps, and is operated via the truck's key fob, or buttons inside the load bed and the cab.

Electric window-style anti-pinch sensors ensure that nothing can get caught in the closing cover. The Power Roller Shutter is standard on the Stormtrak and will be available as an option on the Ranger Wildtrak.

The new Ford Ranger Wolftrak is based on mid-spec XLT trim and comes with the 168bhp turbocharged EcoBlue diesel unit. It's available with a six-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic gearbox, but also adds an electronically locking rear diff and all-terrain tyres for added off-road ability.

Ford is pitching the Wolftrak at buyers needing a work vehicle that can tackle rough terrain and private customers looking for a go-anywhere activity vehicle. Styling changes include Conquer Grey or Sea Grey paint, a matte black grille and black alloy wheels, plus grey Wolftrak badges.

Inside, there's matte black dashboard trim and all-weather floor mats, enhancing its heavy-duty character. Functional kit includes a bed liner, moulded side steps and under-body protection as standard, while a tubular sports bar is added behind the cab. Ford will also offer an optional load cover or full canopy for the load cover finished in matte black to match the Wolftrak's detailing.

Both the Stormtrak and Wolftrak are due in dealers in October, and prices will be announced closer to their launch.
