Ford Fiesta Red and Black Editions revealed

Sporty special editions combine more powerful version of 1.0 EcoBoost engine with tuned suspension and striking colour schemes

Ford has announced two sporty new additions to the Fiesta range called the Fiesta Red Edition and the Ford Fiesta Black Edition. This brand new version of Britain’s best-selling car uses a more powerful 138bhp version of the 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine and is set to rival the VW Polo BlueGT, with prices starting at £15,995. The Fiesta Red and Black editions sit between the Zetec S EcoBoost 125 and the more extreme Fiesta ST hot-hatch in terms of feel and price. That’s thanks to the three cylinder’s power output being boosted from 123bhp to 138bhp, giving a 0-62mph time of 9.0 seconds.  Sports suspension, lowered by 10mm, is 12 per cent stiffer at the front and 6 per cent stiffer at the rear although still not as firm as the ST. Efficiency hasn’t been forgotten with fuel economy of 63mpg and C02 emissions of 104g/km,

A host of styling upgrades mark the Red and Black editions out. The Black model's black paint is accented by red highlights in the grille, mirrors and roof. The red version gets red paint, with black mirrors and a black roof. The interior of both is set off by red stitching on the steering wheel, sports pedals and red trim on the seats. There is no limit on production numbers and the order books are open now. Prices start at £15,995 which is £1,255 cheaper than the entry level ST.
