New Cupra Formentor and Terramar Tribe Editions are green in more ways than one

Available this January are some very green-looking Formentor and Terramar trim levels

Cupra has now announced pricing for the new Tribe Edition versions of its Formentor and Terramar, which were first shown at the Munich Motor Show back in September 2025.

The Tribe Edition offers what the brand calls a fresh “individualisation concept”. It mainly focuses on visual upgrades and is available on a range of pure-petrol, mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains for both the Formentor and Terramar. In other markets the Leon and Leon Estate get the Tribe Edition treatment too, but Cupra has said these won’t be brought to the UK.

Pricing for the Formentor Tribe Edition starts at £39,240, making it £455 cheaper than the V3 trim (the highest specification below the hotter VZ models). The Terramar Tribe Edition starts at £43,255, but if these prices sound too punchy, discounts of over £8,000 are available on the regular Formentor and Terramar through the Auto Express Buy A Car service

Both models get the option of a 1.5-litre eTSI mild-hybrid set-up with 148bhp or a 1.5-litre e-Hybrid plug-in hybrid with 201bhp. On top of this the Formentor offers a 148bhp 1.5-litre TSI petrol, while the Terramar gets a 201bhp 1.5-litre TSI with a seven-speed DSG automatic and four-wheel drive.

What do you get with a Cupra Tribe Edition?

Generally speaking, you get a new, and appropriately green, exterior paint colour called Manganese Matt (or the existing Midnight Black), special alloy wheels made from 20 per cent recycled material, and a load of special interior finishes that are said to be sustainable.

Running through the model range, there are subtle differences between the specs of Tribe Editions. The partly recycled alloy wheels have Sulphur Green highlights and come in 19-inch size for the Formentor, with the Terramar getting a 20-inch version.

There’s more Sulphur Green inside on various trim elements, the interior plastics use 30 per cent recycled materials, and what Cupra calls 3D knitted technology is used for the fabric covering of the sports seats. This is 100 per cent recycled and created with a “computer-controlled knitting machine” that knits every piece to size, eliminating the need for cutting and waste.

Based on the V2 trim level of the Formentor and Terramar, the Tribe Editions also get a hands-free powered bootlid, an ‘Immersive by Sennheiser’ sound system and, on the Terramar, a heads-up display.
