Citroen C4 Cactus Rip Curl edition rolls in (surf board not included)

Cool cats and wave riders take note – this is the new Citroen C4 Cactus Rip Curl Edition, and it’s aimed at the adventurer in you. It’s part of a collaboration between Citroen and surfing brand Rip Curl, and - short of actually being supplied with a surfboard - it’s got everything you need for a radical weekend away.

The biggest addition to the specification is Grip Control – the first time it’s made an appearance on the Cactus. It stops short of the full 4x4 systems offered by some rivals, and instead channels power to whichever of the front wheels has the most traction – hopefully providing enough grip to get you out of a sticky situation on mud, ice or sand. Especially sand, if you plan to go surfing.

To compliment this, the C4 Cactus Rip Curl Edition has special Goodyear 4 Seasons Mud+Snow tyres wrapped around its 17-inch alloy wheels.

Elsewhere the changes to the Cactus are mostly cosmetic. Rip Curl graphics appear on the car’s wings and rear quarter lights. There’s also polished white roof rails and door mirrors, which stand out against the choices of paint colour – Obsidian Black, Pearl White, Arctic Steel, Sport Red, or Tapenade Grey.

Inside, there are bright orange surrounds for the audio speakers, orange trimmings for the floor mats, and orange seatbelts – all complimenting a generous equipment list. The C4 Cactus Rip Curl Edition features parking sensors and a reversing camera, climate control, auto headlights and wipers, sat-nav, and cruise control.

Prices for the Citroen C4 Cactus Rip Curl Edition start at £18,480 for the PureTech 110 petrol, rising to £19,210 for the BlueHDi 100 diesel. No other engines are available and there is no option for an automatic gearbox. The car will be available to order from June 1.
