Zenos E10 S road legal racer revealed

Lightweight road car set up for the track to be revealed at this year's Autosport International show

British sports car company Zenos has added another track-based road car to its range. The new E10 S will be revealed at this year's Autosport International show, with the open-top two-seater sitting above the standard E10 in the line-up.

The lightweight sports car is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged Ford GDTI EcoBoost engine, developing 250bhp – that's 50bhp more than in the base E10 – as well as 400Nm of torque. A six-speed manual gearbox is also fitted as standard. That should help the newcomer eclipse the lower-powered model's 0-62mph time of 4.5 seconds, although no official performance figures have been released yet.

Constructed from lightweight aluminium and recycled carbon fibre, the E10 S promises "outstanding ride and handling performance on the road and on the track", according to Zenos.

Prices for the E10 S start from £29,995, while the standard E10 comes in at £24,995. Zenos was set up in 2013 with the aim of designing and manufacturing high-performance, ultra-lightweight but affordable sports cars.

The company is also believed to be working on a coupe version of the two-seat roadster, which is expected to be called the E12.
