New Audi TT Final Edition signals the end for iconic sports car

After 25 years, production of the Audi TT draws to a close with a special edition model

When the Audi TT first hit the road in 1998 it was an instant success thanks to its crisp design features and uber-cool profile. Despite the second and third generation TT models enjoying a sizable share of the sports car market, Audi will pull the plug on the TT this year, but not before it launches the Final Edition model.

Audi has already given the TT a goodbye model of sorts with the RS-based Iconic Edition of 2022 - which was limited to just 11 examples in the UK. The Final Edition trim level will be available from March across the TT lineup and first deliveries can be expected from April.

Marking the Final Edition out visually from the standard TT is the use of Audi’s black styling pack with badging, door mirrors, exhaust tips and spoiler all finished in black. The drop-top TT Roadster has black rollover hoops and wind diffuser.

Inside, you’ll find an extended leather pack added as standard. The steering wheel is upholstered in Alcantara leather with red stitching as are the seats with red piping on the floor mats.

Interior equipment levels have been improved with Audi’s ‘Technology Pack’ which adds sat-nav, Audi Connect Infotainment Services (this gives drivers access to features like live local fuel prices and weather forecasts). Choose the TTS model and the Comfort and Sound pack is added in, comprising an upgraded sound system, reversing camera and parking aids.

As mentioned before, the Final Edition is available across the range (TT RS aside). The £41,910 40 TFSI coupe kicks off the Final Edition lineup, then comes the 45 TFSI quattro coupe at £46,525 and then the TTS Coupe at £54,685. You can spec all of the above in Roadster form for a £1,750 premium.

The Audi TT is set to live on but it’ll dramatically transform into an all-electric SUV. These plans have been in the works for a while, Auto Express even drove a plug-in hybrid TT SUV back in 2014.
