Audi launches A4 and A5 Black Editions

Upgraded A4 and A5 S-Line models feature styling tweaks and extra kit.

Audi A5 Coupe Black Edition

Audi has released details of its new Black Edition spec for the A4 and A5. The Black Edition model is based on the S-Line trim level and adds a gloss black grille surround, matt black window, number plate and fog light surrounds and an upgrade to 19-inch dark titanium-finish alloys.

The interior features piano black trim and a Bang&Olufsen stereo with a DAB digital radio and iPod interface. A4 saloon buyers get the Audi Parking System Plus, which incorporates front and rear parking sensors and a visual display inside the car, while Avant estate models get tinted privacy glass.

The Black Edition upgrade is available for all A4 and A5 Coupe engine variants and carries a £1,250 premium over the S line specification. Audi claims the Black Edition kit is worth £1,400. Prices for the A4 range £27,220 to £38,095, and A5 Coupe prices from £31,175 to £39,330.

Audi has also introduced Technik specification on the A4. The spec is based on the SE model and adds leather seats, DVD sat-nav, iPod connevtivity and Audi’s Parking System Plus.

Available on the 2.0-litre and 3.0-litre TDI diesel models, in saloon or Avant estate form, A4 Technik models carry a premium of £915 over their SE equivalents. The firm equates the extra kit as a £2,600 benefit over the price of the individually specified options. Prices range from £27,270 to £35,205.
