Is this a premium alternative to the Halfords kit? Granted, it’s only a couple of quid dearer, but quality of finish suggests it could be twice the price. The main benefit is that all three tools are bigger – the combis and long-nose pliers are 200mm long, the sidecuts 180mm – and the grip design is just as ergonomically sound, yet nicer to use due to the smooth but grippy rubberised plastic used. None of the tools is quite as free moving as those in the Halfords set, but they’re certainly not excessively stiff, either. A good compromise as no play could be felt anywhere.
