Freeloader Pro Solar charger

Stay charged up on move.

Being away from home with a dead camera or phone can be a frustrating experience, but with this new solar charger from Freeloader there is no need to run out of juice.

The Pro is perfect for powering MP3 players, PDAs, portable DVD players and mobile phones, and can be recharged using only the sun.

And if the weather isn’t very bright, the Freeloader can be powered up by the USB cable and a nearby computer.

A sleek design sees the gadget finished in stylish piano black with a metallic ‘power halo’ which illuminates to show how much juice is remaining. A multi voltage switch allows you to up the volts when charging the likes of DVD and MP4 players.

It also comes supplied with a new CamCaddy attachment. Designed specifically for digital camera batteries, the caddy allows you to slot the battery in and recharge it to 90 per cent of its capacity. It even has an LED display to warn you when it is ready to be used again.

Ten adapters are included, and any device with a USB  charge cable can be powered by the Pro. There are also other fittings available, and the whole unit weighs less than 175g, so is perfectly portable.
