We've been running our own £40 classic car for the past few weeks, after hooking up a Click Car Mouse version of Mercedes’ legendary 300 SL to our computer.

The wireless accessory is exquisitely accurate, with grille, bumper and wheel details all recreated to scale.

Sadly, the signature gullwing doors don’t open up, but the rest of the model is great, with the front and rear lights illuminating when you plug the USB docking station into your computer.

Take the car off its charging base, and you can use it instantly. A switch on the underside lets you turn the wireless mouse off and on, with or without the lights, while left and right buttons straddle a scroll wheel on the bonnet.

The latter isn’t very big, and there are no secondary buttons, but this doesn’t detract from the visual appeal. Despite its size, the device is comfortable to hold, and responsive, too, even without a mouse mat.

Verdict

Rating: ★★★
What is it?
Flash wireless mouse to show off your love for cars at the computer
Problems?
Expensive, no secondary buttons, small scroll wheel, USB connector is bulky.
Why buy?
Immaculately detailed design, mouse proves responsive, comfortable to hold during prolonged use.
