Polaroid Sunglasses

Don’t squint when driving in summer sun – get yourself a pair of driving sunglasses

Although it’s better known for its instant cameras, Polaroid has a range of smart eyewear, too. It has just launched seven new styles, and prices start from as little as £50. Each pair gets polarised UltraSight lenses, which offer 100 per cent UV ray protection.

The cheapest pair is the Take Off design. Styled like aviators’ glasses, they have a lightweight frame with narrow brown arms. Next up is the £55 Apollo, which has a bug-eyed design similar to the shades worn by celebs like Victoria Beckham.

The Scorpio and Russet  designs are also £55. These are classic brown frames with traditional rectangular lenses. Polaroid has also launched a challenger to the popular Ray-Ban Wayfarer design, in the shape of its Smoulder frames. These cost only £59.

The £79 Mystique glasses feature copper swirls on the arms, but the most expensive pair in the range is the £89 Explorer. These aviators are more substantial, plus they come with copper lenses and flexible nose pads for extra comfort.

Most of the new Polaroidrange (with the exception of the Mystique) are unisex designs, so you can leave a pair in the car and let your partner wear them as well.
