The Volkswagen Sharan remains a comfortable MPV that’s big on space and functionality.

The Sharan range consists of S, SE, SE Nav and SEL models, with all featuring a touchscreen infotainment system, three-zone air conditioning, and Bluetooth as standard.

The Volkswagen Sharan engine range consists of a 148bhp 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol, and two 2.0-litre diesels with 148bhp and 182bhp.&nbsp;

At cruising speeds, the Volkswagen Sharan is a hushed place to be, being nicely insulated from wind and road noise.

Top spec SEL models of the Sharan come with a Panoramic roof and Adaptive Cruise control.

The Sharan's dashboard design is more practical than stylish with plenty of cubbies, two large storage places in the roof and lots of space for the front seat passengers to get comfortable.

In the Sharan, one simple tug of a handle for each outermost seat in the second row allows them to cleverly tilt forwards.

Access into the third row of seats in the Sharan is easy thanks to the middle row's folding mechanism.

Six-footers will struggle with headroom in the Sharan's rearmost seats, but there’s decent head and knee room for smaller adults and children can stretch out.&nbsp;

With all the seats folded down in the Sharan, there is a cavernous 2,297 litres of space on offer.

With the rear seats in place, boot space in the Sharan is still a respectable 375 litres.

There are two transmission options available with the Sharan – a six-speed manual or six-speed DSG.&nbsp;

The three middle-row seats in the Sharan can be slid forwards and backwards independently, with the outermost ones available to be optioned as&nbsp;child booster seats.&nbsp;

An extensive list of optional items to further enhance the Sharan's practicality is available. These include an electric tailgate, roof racks, cool boxes and dog guards.&nbsp;
