New VW Caddy Life 2015 review - pictures

The VW Caddy Life is the latest version of the brand's van-based MPV, available with five or seven seats.

It's similar in length and width to the VW Golf Estate, but offers serious practicality thanks to its van-shaped body.

Inside, the dashboard will be familiar to any current VW driver, with decent build quality and a toughness and solidity that family buyers will appreciate.

The Caddy offers a range of flexible seating options, including a third row in longer wheelbase Maxi versions.

As well as the various seating options, there's a total of 17 storage compartments around the cabin, making it ideally suited to family life.

If you so wish, the Caddy Life can be turned back into a van by removing all of the rear seats. The Caddy Maxi Life versions have 470mm extra in the wheelbase, making for an even bigger interior.

The Caddy has adopted VW's latest family face, although it won't set pulses racing.

There are three Euro 6 compliant 2.0-litre TDI diesel engines available from launch, with 74bhp, 101bhp and 148bhp outputs.

A smaller 1.4 TSI petrol variant is expected to join the line-up later in 2015.

The Caddy Life rides comfortably, but it can become a bit unsettled over bumps and potholes.
