Volkswagen Amarok Dark Label set for UK

Volkswagen launches special edition Amarok Dark Label pick-up – only 300 to reach the UK

The limited-run Volkswagen Amarok Dark Label pick-up will start from £26,125 (ex VAT) when it goes on sale in the UK on September 22nd, with prices rising to £27,855 (ex VAT) for the automatic.

Only 300 will make it to the UK, with 50 featuring the six-speed manual and selectable 4Motion all-wheel drive system, plus 250 more that get the eight-speed auto gearbox and permanent four-wheel drive. Both versions are powered by VW’s top-spec 180PS 2.0-litre BiTDI, offering 420Nm of torque and a max towing capacity of 3,200kg.

Whichever version of the Amarok you go for, there are the same unique styling features to help the Dark Label stand out on the road, including 18-inch ‘Durban’ black alloys, extended wheel arches and an underride guard for the front bumper. In keeping with special edition’s rather sinister-sounding name, Volkswagen has also fitted tinted rear and side windows, darkened tail lights, as well as adding a black rear bumper, black grained door handles, matt black side bars and footstep, and black foil on the B-pillars.

Inside there’s Alcantara upholstery and Dark Label-branded velour floor mats. Standard kit comes in the form of a multifunction steering wheel, a six-inch colour touchscreen with sat-nav, Bluetooth, and heated seats and wing mirrors.

Available in three colours – Deep Black, Reflex Silver and Natural Grey – VW has also finished the pick-up’s load bay in an anthracite-coloured UV-resistant coating.

For added exclusivity, customers can choose from a range of Amarok Dark Label accessories, including a hard tonneau cover, branded seat covers and bonnet protection, plus chrome door handles and roof-mounted styling bar lights.
