Suzuki launches design competition

Suzuki launches design a t-shirt competition in aid of the Marcus Rutherford Foundation

Suzuki’s first launch of 2014 hasn’t come in the shape of a new car but a one-off design competition all in aid of charity. The Japanese manufacturer is giving fans the opportunity to design a t-shirt and the winner will see their creation go into production as part of Suzuki’s 2014 collection, as well as receiving £500 worth of merchandise.

When sales of the winning t-shirt start, 10 per cent of all proceeds raised will be donated to the Marcus Rutherford Foundation / Young Cancer Trust. The charity does extensive research into the causes of cancer in young children and provides advice and support for those who are undergoing treatment.

The competition can be entered at www.suzukitee.com and designs can be submitted up until January 31. The event has already attracted attention, with model and famous petrolhead Jodie Kidd having penned her own design, which is on display at Motorcycle Live.

Emma Gibbon, Senior Merchandiser at Suzuki GB, said: “We are delighted to be able to offer the chance to design and produce a fan’s t-shirt and be involved with such a fantastic and very worthwhile cause.”
