The SsangYong Tivoli XLV is a larger version of the standard Tivoli

The extra 245mm in length extends out over the rear wheels

The XLV drives much like the standard Tivoli with similar steering and handling characteristics 

The ride soaks up imperfections in the road well

The XLV on test is the 4x4 automatic which impacts economy and costs more to buy

Standard kit is very generous including Sat Nav, Auto Lights/ Wipers, Dual Zone Climate control and leather trim

Seats are comfortable but the trim colour in test car will divide opinion 

The four-wheel-drive system spends most of its time in front-wheel-drive mode

Prices are around £1000 more than standard Tivoli 

The XLV only increases boot space with no change to passenger room 

The boot capacity now stands at 720 litres (measured from boot floor to roof) compared to the 423 litres load area of the standard Tivoli

Rear seats offer buyers the usual 60/ 40 split folding ability
