Skoda Octavia vRS 4x4 UK review - pictures

The Skoda Octavia vRS diesel is a great family car, but we're testing the car with a brand-new four-wheel-drive system.

The vRS 4x4 comes with the same 181bhp 2.0-litre diesel from the regular model.

The four-wheel-drive system costs £1,450 on top of the price of the standard car.

Even with the extra cost of the four-wheel-drive system, the Octavia vRS 4x4 is cheaper than an equivalent VW Golf GTD.

The extra grip afforded by the four-wheel-drive system improves the Octavia vRS' 0-62mph time by three-tenths of a second over the front-wheel-drive car.

The 2.0-litre diesel engine is mated to a DSG automatic gearbox, which is slick and offers quick changes when needed.

There's enough torque from the diesel engine to make sure there's always power when you need it.

The vRS 4x4 has the same simple and upmarket cabin as the regular Octavia.

Economy and emissions take a small hit thanks to the four-wheel-drive system.

The optional Meteor Grey paint makes this a seriously stylish car.
