Rolls-Royce 'Zenith Collection' is the Phantom's farewell

Rolls-Royce creates 50 extra-special Phantom coupe and Drophead cabrio variants, marking the end of production

Rolls-Royce recently revealed details of an all-new platform that's set to underpin a new Phantom for 2018. But the current model isn't dead just yet, as these special 'Zenith Collection' models demonstrate.

Designed to mark the moment the Phantom Coupe and Drophead Coupe "leave the stage" before they're replaced, the Zenith Collection examples will be among the very last built at Rolls-Royce's Goodwood plant. The full run of 50 examples have already been commissioned by customers.

Unique exterior colours have been specced on the Zenith Collection Phantoms, including a Madeira Red and Jubilee Silver combo harking back to a 1930s Phantom II. A new clearcoat makes the cars even shinier than ever before.

Inside, you'll find a host of bespoke materials and trim fittings including machined aluminium cupholders, unique brushed steel instruments and unique leather colours. There's added luxury in the form of a glass shelf, housed within the coupe's split-tailgate, that has been designed as a Champagne server.

In the boot, buyers have also been treated to a unique version of Rolls-Royce's picnic hamper, personalised in colour and material according to individual customer requirements. The car also gets laser etched armrest cappings and the famous 'Starlight' headliner  has also been revamped to bring a "warm and inviting celestial glow".

It's not clear yet if the Zenith Collection Phantom models really are the last of the line - we could see even further exotic, limited-run versions before this generation of the Rolls-Royce Phantom is finally brought to a dignified end.
