Renault ZOE R110 prices and specs revealed

Renault’s all-electric ZOE supermini gains more power, plus a new purple paint option, priced from £18,420

Renault has tweaked the all-electric ZOE for 2018, adding the option of a new, more powerful electric motor and some new customisation and finish options. It's available to order now, priced from £18,420, including the Government's plug-in car grant.

Called ZOE R110, the new electric motor is the same size and weight as the previous R90 powertrain, and takes up the same footprint in the ZOE’s chassis. It’s more powerful, though, packing 80kW compared with the 68kW of the older motor. It offers the same 186-mile 'real world' electric range.

It means that the most powerful ZOE on sale now packs 107bhp, though torque remains at 225Nm. Renault claims that the changes haven’t affected the ZOE’s low-speed performance, but the car is now more comfortable on faster roads, and is two seconds faster from 50mph to 75mph (80-120kph). The new R110 will accelerate from 0-62mph in 11.9 seconds. A less-powerful Q90 model is still available.

In addition to the new motor, the revised ZOE now offers Android Auto connectivity, which works alongside Renault's updated R-Link Evolution infotainment system. The 2018 MY range has been simplified, however, with Renault offering just two trims for the new year. Entry cars will be badged Dynamique Nav and come with auto lights and wipers, voice-controlled TomTom nav and rear parking sensors. Signature Nav tops the range, with a Bose stereo, heated front seats and a reversing camera.

Elsewhere, a new dark metallic purple paint colour has been made available on Dynamique Nav ZOEs, which can be paired with a purple interior trim pack, too. This introduces a violet satin finish on the dashboard, air vents, gear lever and speakers.

The £18,240 list price gets you a ZOE Dynamique Nav R110, while the Signature Nav costs £20,670. The Q90 (with quick charge) is still available, and the two specs cost £19,170 and £21,420 respectively.
