Renault has a historic reputation for building unreliable cars, but that's far from the truth these days. It finished 15th out of 30 manufacturers in our latest Driver Power satisfaction survey, which is an improvement from 19th-place in 2019 and an indication the company is headed in the right direction.

The Megane has a strong safety record, with Euro NCAP awarding it a full five stars. All versions get six airbags, parking sensors and cruise control with a speed limiter, while Renault also includes its Visio System which adds a lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition and an automatic high/low beam function.

Warranty

The Renault Megane is covered by a five-year warranty, with an unlimited mileage allowance for the first two years. Between years three to five, a 100,000-mile limit applies. The manufacturer also offers the option to extend your warranty cover for a further 12 months at extra cost.

Servicing

Renault offers its EasyLife Service Plans, which allow allows you to pay for scheduled maintenance up front. A typical two-year/20,000-mile plan costs around £350, moving up to nearer £500 for a three-year/30,000-mile plan.
