Updated Renault Zoe gets extra range

Renault Zoe and Twizy line-up updated, with a longer-range electric motor and new trim levels

Renault ZOE front tracking

Renault has overhauled its trim range for its all-electric Zoe supermini and quirky Twizy models to give a more uniform structure.

Updates to the Zoe coincide with the addition of a new, longer-range electric motor. Previously, the Zoe line-up consisted of Expression and Dynamique Intens, but there are now three models: Expression Nav, Dynamique Nav and Dynamique Nav Rapid Charge.

Included as standard in the Expression Nav model is the R-link voice-controlled touchscreen sat-nav, climate control, a keycard entry system, Bluetooth connectivity, four speakers, USB and AUX ports and cruise control, plus front electric and rear tinted windows.

For an extra £1,600, Dynamique Nav adds features such as a rear parking camera, bespoke upholstery and rear electric windows. The Dynamique Nav Rapid Charge is identically equipped, but as the name suggests, can be recharged to 80 per cent in 30 minutes through a 43kW charge point for £500 more.

The official NEDC range is 149 miles, which translates to a real world range of around 64 miles in cold weather and 93 miles in temperate conditions, says Renault. The Dynamique Nav Rapid Charge also retains the original power unit used in previous models, while the rest of the line up features the new motor.

Renault Twizy

The previous Twizy range has been replaced by Expression, Dynamique and Cargo as well as minor updates to the wheels, trims and colours. Grey Snowflake wheel trims, an adjustable front seat and a heated windscreen are standard in the Expression model.

An extra £700 for the Dynamique model will provide you with three alloy wheel colour options; Gloss Black, Flame Orange or Urban Blue. You will also have a choice of 14 two-tone colour collections for the wheel arches, seat covers and mirror housings. £200 more for the Cargo model expands the carrying capacity to 180 litres with a lockable storage area.
