Porsche 918 Spyder 2013 - pictures

The 918 Spyder will be parting in the modern era hypercar battle along with the Mclaren P1 and LaFerrari. 

Porsche have combined a race-derived carbon chassis with a 4.6-litre engine coupled to hybrid technology.

The 918 is the fastest road-going Porsche ever. 

With the engine and electric motors  the 918 produces 875bhp and 1,280Nm of torque. 

The V8 engine is coupled to Porsche's slick PDK gearbox. 

The emission's produces are a astonishing 72g/km of CO2. New lengths for a hypercar. 

The 918 lapped the Nurburgring in under 7 minutes. 

The interior is ultra-modern with the centre console featuring a tablet-style control unit. 

The speedometer dials have a clever mix of digital and anologue to keep with classic Porsche theme. 

The cabin is very driver focused with the driving position being perfect. 

The roof panels can easily be removed and stored inside the boot. 

In E-mode alone the car will reach 62mph in just over seven seconds. 

The rear of the car is very striking with it's active rear spoiler and imposing twin exhausts. 

The battery will promise a total range of 18 miles.
