Porsche unveils limited GB Edition 911 Turbo S

Porsche’s new 911 Turbo S Exclusive GB Edition will start from £150,237 and celebrates 40 years of the 911 Turbo

This is the new 911 Turbo S Exclusive GB Edition, unveiled by Porsche to mark 40 years since the 911 Turbo first hit showrooms.

As the lengthy name suggests, the bespoke two-door coupe is only available in the UK, and will set buyers back upwards of £150,237. You’ll have to move fast though, as it’s on sale now and – further marking the anniversary – only 40 are going to be built.

Developed by Porsche Exclusive, the German manufacturer’s in-house custom manufacturing department, the special edition features unique styling upgrades both inside and out.

GB Edition references original 911 Turbo

Included in this are a number of nods to the first 911 Turbo, such as the gloss black finish for the rear spoiler, 20-inch Sport Classic alloys, exterior door handles and wing mirrors. Completing the exterior look are black Porsche logo and stripe decals running down the doorsills, and rear privacy glass has been fitted, too.

Inside, there’s black leather upholstery and carbon trim, while underlining the UK connection is an embossed Union flag for the storage compartment lid. ‘Guards Red’ stitching is used throughout the cabin, making its way onto the SportDesign steering wheel, seats and floor mats, with this colour also used for the seat belts.

Finishing the limited edition-look off are personalised carbon sill guards with illuminated ‘911 Turbo S – Exclusive GB Edition’ lettering and embossed Porsche head rests.

GB Edition: 197mph top speed

Underpinning the Exclusive GB Edition is the standard 911 Turbo S’ 3.8-litre six-cylinder twin-turbo engine, which generates 553bhp and 700Nm of Torque. It gets this power down to all four wheels via a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission, resulting in a 0-62mph time of 3.1 seconds and a top speed of 197mph.

Each car will also come with a personal photo album documenting the production process, plus Porsche is throwing in an Exclusive GB Edition indoor car cover and unique design sketches.
