<p class="p1">Like all electrical cars, the Leaf suffers from a limited range. Nissan claims that it can do 124 miles on a single charge, though - so it coud suit commuters.</p>

<p class="p1">The Leaf is very cheap to run as it can be charged up at home - and there's no road tax to pay either.</p>

<p class="p1">To recharge its maximum 120 mile range will take eight hours from a normal power outlet. More fast-charge points are appearing around the UK though, and these can give you 80 per cent charge in just 30 minutes.</p>

<p class="p1">Thanks to a 108bhp battery-powered motor, the Nissan Leaf will reach 60mph in 11.5 seconds and has a maximum speed of 89mph.</p>

<p class="p1">The Leaf's model lineup features the entry-level <span class="s1">Visia</span>, a Visia Plus and an Acenta before you get to the range-topping Tekna.</p>

<p class="p1">There are two pricing plans: the 'Leaf Flex' plan allows buyers to own the car but lease the battery, and the 'Leaf' plan means you own both.</p>

<p class="p1">The fared-in nose, sculpted headlamps and distinctive blue badging help the Leaf stand out from traditional family hatchbacks.</p>

<p class="p1">The readouts on the dash can help you drive as economically as possible and can help show you where you are wasting energy.</p>

<p class="p1">The Leaf comes with six airbags and stability control as standard, while an audible warning system stops people crossing the road in front of the near-silent Nissan.</p>
