Campervan rental try before you buy website launches

Boost in staycations and motorhome sales inspires new business

British holidaymakers who fancy sleeping on four wheels for their summer holiday can now rent a selection of motorhomes and campervans via a new website.

PaulCamper.co.uk, named after the owner’s own campervan, offers vacation-seekers the chance to rent a romantic campervan or a more up-to-date motorhome from as little as £70 a night.

With UK-based holidays selling out as holidaymakers look to get away over the summer, motorhome and campervan sales have also soared. Now potential buyers have the chance to try before they buy.

As with popular accommodation rental sites like AirBnB, PaulCamper lists privately-owned vehicles that are rated by users and are covered by fully comprehensive insurance and roadside assistance with all necessary camping equipment included.

Vehicles available range from the traditional VW camper right through to Class A motorhomes, accommodating everyone from solo travellers up to families of six, while pick-up points across the United Kingdom are available.

PaulCamper CEO, Dirk Fehse, said, “I started PaulCamper back in 2013 renting out my own camper Paul in order to reduce the running costs, and was excited by the idea of making camping possible for those who didn’t want to buy their own motorhome.

“Motorhomes and campervans can be expensive to maintain, coupled with the fact they are often used for just a few weeks a year, spending the rest of the time in the owner’s garage.

“In the beginning I too had concerns about entrusting my precious VW to strangers, but in all these years I have only had good experiences.”

PaulCamper has been active across mainland Europe since 2017, while globally it has over 8,500 vehicles available for rent and has been responsible for over a million overnight stays.
