‘Fully-comprehensive’ subscription plan for Audi e-tron electric SUV

New Audi e-tron subscription ownership doesn’t require a deposit and comes with 1,000 miles-worth of free charging

Audi e-tron

Audi has created what it claims is a ‘fully-comprehensive’ subscription ownership plan for the all-electric e-tron SUV, which is available now from £1,299 a month.

In partnership with car subscription service Onto, the fee covers the cost of the car, insurance, servicing and breakdown cover, as well as 1,000-miles worth of charging from both the BP Pulse and Shell Recharge networks.

The package doesn’t require a deposit and subscribers can choose a plan as short as one month. At the end of the agreement, users can choose to either return the vehicle for a £49.50 collection fee or swap into a different EV provided by Onto.

£1,299 a month would represent a huge monthly fee on a conventional PCP deal, but Onto claims that the offering works out at a similar price, once the cost of insurance, maintenance and the absence of an initial deposit - typically thousands of pounds - are taken into account.

The car offered is the e-tron 55 quattro Black Edition, which is based on the e-tron’s S line trim-level. Standard equipment includes 21-inch alloy wheels, matrix LED headlamps, adaptive sports suspension, privacy glass and black exterior trim in place of the standard car’s brightwork.

Inside it features leather-trimmed sports seats, a leather sports steering wheel, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch infotainment system. Two-zone climate control is also fitted as standard, controlled by an extra 8.1-inch screen in the centre console.

The e-tron 55 quattro is powered by a 95kWh battery pack and two electric motors which have a combined output of 402bhp and 664Nm of torque. Audi says that’s enough for a 0–62mph time of 5.7 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 124mph.

On a full charge the battery will provide 235 miles of range and, when connected to a 150kW DC rapid charger, it’ll recover an 80 percent charge in around half an hour.
