Vaughtons launches NHS fundraising pin-badge

Vaughtons - the British manufacturer responsible for the Aston Martin and McLaren logos - has launched a “Thank You” pin-badge to raise money for the NHS

Vaughtons, the historic British jewellery manufacturer responsible for the Aston Martin and McLaren badges, has launched a fundraising pin-badge to support the NHS during the coronavirus pandemic.

The badges are made in the UK, using methods and tooling which have been used since the company’s inception in 1819. Each badge is stamped and polished on the firm’s traditional jewellery equipment, before the rainbow-coloured enamel is applied by hand.

Initially, the badges will be offered with either gold or silver plating, although Vaughtons says it will release solid silver and nine-carat gold variants in the near future.

Nick Hobbis, Managing Director of Vaughtons, said: “The country has pulled together throughout this difficult time with unanimous, grateful support for the NHS and the carers who have put their lives on the line and worked tirelessly, and continue to do so, for those who have been affected by the Coronavirus.

“The rainbow has become a visible symbol of hope and gratitude. Creating this badge by using our skills is Vaughtons’ unique way of giving back. We very much hope that this Rainbow Thank You badge will become the 21st century “poppy,” enabling us to raise valuable funds for charities supporting NHS workers and volunteers.”

Each badge is priced at £9.99 including postage and packaging – and the company says the project’s profits will be sent directly to NHS Charities Together. The badges can be ordered directly from the Vaughtons website.
